New York’s Rubin Museum treats its visitors to the artwork and cuisine of the Himalayan region. A variety of religious artwork from Buddhism, Hinduism, Sikhism, and Jainism along with traditional cultural art from Tibet, Nepal, and India are displayed in the museum’s permanent collection and rotating exhibitions.

Visitors, or those in the Chelsea neighborhood, should also make time to sample the museum’s excellent Café Serai. Several dishes and cocktails—often based on the works from the exhibitions—are available at the restaurant without the need of a ticket to museum itself.
