Your secret art venue when you seek peace and quiet
When I want to escape from the buzz during the opening days of the Venice Biennale, I go and see the paintings by Vittore Carpaccio at La Scuola di San Giorgio deli Schiavoni.
The best food experience in an art space
A dinner by **Michelin-starred chef Pascal Devalkeneer for Walead Beshty’s opening at the gallery in 2011.

A museum gift shop that you never leave empty handed
I don’t usually visit the gift shops in museums, I’m not a big fan of the merchandising around art. However, I adore bookshops, like the one by Walther König at Serpentine Gallery in London.

Your museum with a wow-factor
The Getty Museum in Los Angeles, for the train, the view, and “Christ’s Entry into Brussels” (1889) by James Ensor.

Please share with us a special personal memory related to a museum experience
I visited the Gemeente museum in The Hague in 1979 and discovered the paintings by Piet Mondriaan. For me, coming from a family who collected CoBrA works, this was a complete shock and a revelation.
