The Palazzo Davanzati is a museum housed in a late medieval palace. The restored Florentine building has been owned by several families since its original construction. Its name comes from the most notable of its inhabitants: the Davanzatis.

As with many preserved buildings in Florence, the Palazzo Davanzati gives an excellent window into the Middle Ages. Originally built in the 14th century, restorations and additions to the museum have taken place; however, the Palazzo Davanzati still displays its medieval Florentine roots both inside and outside.
