The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw features a large collection of works by Polish and Eastern European artists. If it goes according to plan, the museum will move out of its current location and into a new building in the Parade Square area of the city in 2019. Parade Square is noted for the large Palace of Culture building that was created for Poland by the Soviet Union. A modern cultural building, the Museum of Modern Art, next to the Palace of Culture would symbolize modern Polish culture being free from Soviet influence.
