The Museum of Film in Lodz, Poland, is notable for both its collection and its architecture. Since its founding in 1986, the Museum of Film has inhabited the Scheibler Palace. Karol Scheibler, a wealthy textile factory owner, built this neoclassical-style Scheibler Palace in the mid 19th century; the mansion features ornate decor and detail both inside and out.

In the museum not only are films shown throughout the year, but also antique filmmaking gear, such as cameras are available to see. Exhibitions on traditional and modern filmmaking are also on display. If you’re interested in film history make sure to visit the Museum of Film next time you’re in Lodz!
