Since I have spent most of 2016 in LA I would name Otium, the restaurant at the Broad museum. Chef Timothy Hollingsworth is doing a good job reinventing what an American restaurant might be.
Sitting at the bar with a glass of wine and exquisitely presented food was sensory overload of the best kind: a warm, glazed roll and creamery butter; chick pea fritter, carrot mustard, olives; and octopus, marinated raddichio, meyer lemon. I can still taste it.
Surprisingly, art doesn’t make me hungry, so I’m not a frequent visitor of restaurants in the museums.Though during the art fairs held in Grand Palais in Paris it’s very nice to take a break and enjoy wild cod or pear in red wine in a little restaurant Mini Palais.
There is an odd sensitivity here -- but my best food experience was at Yad Vashem. The wonderful meal at the beginning of our visit had a resonant effect on the time we spent there.
