The Imperial War Museum in London examines British international conflicts from World War I until today. The free museum, which focuses on both military and civilian experiences, has several permanent exhibitions on subjects including World War I, World War II, the Holocaust, and the post-World War II era. Rotating exhibitions on various military subjects are featured as well.

Besides a military collection, the Imperial War Museum’s also includes artwork, photography and civilian objects that illustrate 20th and 21st century British warfare in a personal nature. This allows visitors to understand the history of the various conflicts in a way that planes, artillery, and other wartime relics might not.
